Passionate Bedroom Makeover
In Eight Easy Steps
How many times have you wanted to be able to get more "in the mood?" Or, maybe you wanted to help spark your partner's interest. Let's think of your sensual life as a play. In a play or performance nothing is as important as the stage. It sets the tone for the entire content of the performance. The same is true of your bedroom. Nearly all of your sensual acts take place there. Take a look at the room you use as your love den. Does it actually look like a love den? Does it evoke feelings of passion and romance? If not, you need a passion makeover… quickly! Not only will a passion makeover give you a more creative starting point for your sensual play, but it will help put in the mood instantly…just by being in it. How great is that? To get started, use these eight easy ways to transform your bedroom into your perfect playground for passion!
A Fresh Start
Take everything out of your room except your bedroom furniture and lighting. Make sure your current furniture is arranged to give you the maximum feeling of comfort and access. Do not bring anything back in your room that does not absolutely need to be in there. If you have a home office in your room, place it in a closable armoire or purchase a large screen that will block the view of it from the rest of the room when you are done working.
Touch and sight are two of the most important sensual senses. Splurge on a comforter set that makes you feel sexy. Think satin… think silk… think 300 plus thread count… One word of caution: skip the girly prints. No floral, no lace…nothing delicate that can get ruined in a wild romp. These prints are a turn off for guys, and frankly they're too domestically oriented to bring out your inner wildcat. Ethnic prints are okay as long as they are not too ornate.
A Sensual Palette
Color plays a crucial role in determining a mood for a room. When creating a sensual haven, your ideal color scheme should incorporate mainly black, tan or brown, red or a deep purple. Remember you're going for masculine here. If you're going with an ethnic theme, deep dark colors are appropriate. No teal, pink or yellow. You don't need your room to feel light and airy, you want it to help get you in the mood and give you AND your partner that romantic spark.
More Than Meet's the Eye
What you look at can trigger emotions and feelings. With this in mind search for artwork that is more suggestive in nature. This could mean nude prints on the wall, a lover's coffee table book on your nightstand or pictures of various images synonymous with passion such as tropical flowers.
Flowers and plants go a long way to tying together an overall theme or mood of a room. If an ethnic theme is your plan, palm trees, bamboo or other overly large greenery will do the trick. For other moods, try red roses, orchids or tulips. These are all very fragrant and romantically suggestive flowers.
