The Love I Have Lost

Dear Joe,

You have been my best friend and lover for the past year. To hear you say that it's over and that you just love me as a friend breaks my heart. I don't care if the future holds a thousand tortures; I would give anything to spend the rest of my life with you. I would do anything to spend the rest of my life with you. It is because of you that I have changed as a person, I have changed for the better. I know that it wouldn't be easy, but life isn't easy. I know that you love me more than you say; I know that you don't want to leave. It hurts me to think that you can do this to me after all of the passion that we shared such few hours ago. You will always be in my heart and soul. That is why I can't stay; if I leave then maybe I can put my heart at peace, and my mind to rest. I will always think of you and carry you with me.
